Enter the World of Music One More Time!

We are very pleased to be part of architectural buildings that are not only beautiful and famous but also recognised by experts. This is the case of the House of Music Budapest designed by Sou Fujimoto Architects which received the Best of Best title in Architecture MasterPrize Awards.

Let’s start from the beginning.

Városliget could rightly be called the Central Park of Budapest. The lungs of the city. An area with an urban life breathing with history and greenery. A popular hang-out spot dating back to 1896.

The former site of dilapidated and unused offices sits a unique architectural masterpiece – House of Music – designed by Sou Fujimoto Architects. The building envelope is an undulating roof canopy, perforated with openings, and exteriors featuring our Preva Urbana benches, Nanuk litter bins and Donat illuminated bollards.

This project was the first location in Europe to feature our eBlocq smart benches with lockable boxes and an integrated USB socket for device charging. The park offers plenty of places to relax in maximum comfort on our Rivage loungers. In addition, our Preva Urbana benches and Tably modular dining tables provide excellent work and maximum social gathering places. Our Crystal, Minium and Multiminium recycling bins provide additional site details and help keep the grounds clean.

The legacy of Hungarian musicians arguably resonates more prominently than other branches of art. Hungary, after all, produced many-well known composers and musicians who made their mark on world history, such as Ferenc Liszt, Béla Bartók, Zoltán Kodály, György Ligeti and Zoltán Kocsis to name a few.

The House of Music is a new institution created to capture the heritage of Hungarian music culture. In addition, it will serve as the host venue for Hungary‘s first comprehensive exhibition of the history of music.

House of Music was selected from 170 international projects. The iconic building received massive attention in international professional circles shortly after its announcement. It was named by CNN and World Architecture Community as one of the ten most anticipated new buildings of the year.
