IsolaUrbana – Sociality in Urban Contexts

sponsored by Metalco

We need cities made up of places designed for us, to allow us to express ourselves, to realize ourselves, to fully live our private dimension, outside the home.

At Metalco we create great islands of sociality, products that are not only functional like the seats of our benches but also places of aggregation to increase what for us is extremely important: conviviality in the outdoors.

We choose to put the people, the citizens at the center of our creative process: we study their everyday life, we try to understand their needs and requirements, we face big and small daily challenges to give an urban environment that satisfies everyone.

We need cities made up of places designed for us, to allow us to express ourselves, to realize ourselves, to fully live our private dimension, outside the home.

Life in the city is made of people and meetings, exchanges, outdoor activities, and urban landscape. Metalco’s goal is to invent new places, new spaces to live the city, to give our citizens large planters that bring public seating that unites the surrounding space, because “every place is home, every place is special..!”.

With VitaUrbana (UrbanLife), Metalco creates new ways of experiencing the city, conceiving a collection that embodies the historical concept of “square”: IsolaUrbana becomes a modular game, to be invented and declined to give life to new places and new ways of understanding the city. This collection combines an attractive design that goes from Metalco’s unmistakable style in urban furniture to the most sophisticated smart technologies.

IsolaUrbana combines seats and planters, with the aim of providing an alphabet: like the letters that can be associated to compose a lot of different words, even IsolaUrbana modules can be assembled in different ways to meet the needs of the cities and their inhabitants, creating real large islands of sociality.

IsolaUrbana consists of eight modules, including six benches, in HPC or wood, with or without backrest, which can be accessorized with a table, and two rectangular planters available in various sizes.
