Plane Superior

A special feature of this tree bench is the connection between the seat and the backrest. Here a finger joint is used. This technique makes it look as if the seat and the backrest are made of one and the same piece of wood. The rounded seating surface gives the sofa a softer appearance. Another nice detail: all the beams are tapered, which means that the distance between the beams is parallel everywhere. This creates a high-quality look and better seating comfort.

Characteristics:

  • Luxurious and inviting appearance
  • Seat and backrest optically in one piece
  • Efficient filling of outdoor space

Inspired by the Grid series

The design of the Plane Superior tree bench is based on Grijsen’s Grid series. This series consists of ten different elements with different shapes. Three of these elements are equipped with a backrest and also use the finger welding technique used in the Plane Superior.

Grijsen understands that every tree and public space is different. Therefore, it is possible to adjust the diameter of the tree bench as desired. Thus we create a suitable tree bench for each location.

Materials

The tree bench is produced from steel and wood. The steel is hot-dip galvanized and two-layer powder coated in a RAL color of choice. This ensures that the tree bench, like our other products, will last a long time in public spaces. The seat is made of untreated tropical hardwood. This wood is 100% sourced from FSC-certified forests. This means that the wood was harvested sustainably and responsibly.
