This year, Landezine’s editor-in-chief, Zaš Brezar chaired the “super jury” that was tasked with selecting the overall landscape winner at WAF – World Architecture Festival. The three-member jury (Zaš Brezar, Lily Jencks and Todd Longstaffe-Gowan) selected Al Fay Park in Abu Dhabi, designed by the Danish office SLA (Stig L. Anderson) as the winning project.
Al Fay Park is a thoughtful and intelligent response which takes into consideration pressing contemporary social and environmental issues. It is more over a delightful and biodiverse oasis in a dense desert city.

Furthermore, a different WAF jury selected BIG’s Copenhill as the winner of the Building of the Year Award. The factory bears a huge rooftop park designed by no other than SLA. SEE PROJECT
